RE: Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Downloads
Hi Crimson Nape,
Should these automatically replace the current files or do the old ones need manually deleted? And any idea where they're located? I've looked in both C: on my laptop under program files and program files x86, and on D:. C: is the operating system SSD Raid 0 and D: is the storage HDD. My PC is Win 10 64 bit. I tried all the links and all showed the error that ResScan has on start up.
Just got my PC to fire up ResScan properly. I changed 2 things. Since my laptop has an integrated graphics card and a dedicated NVIDIA card, I added ResScan to run only under the dedicated NVIDIA then I went over to Windows to get VC++ for 2017. I can post the link if wanted. ResScan gives me a warning despite that it is working that the screen resolution is too low which is not correct info. I'm running 1920 x 1080p and it states I'm under that with this:
It is recommended that ResScan be used with a minimum screen resolution of 1024x768. If you choose to use ResScan at a lower resolution, you may encounter problems when viewing data.
Please adjust your screen settings to at least 1024x768 with 256 colours or more if you encounter any problems
Click,
Continue to Continue using ResScan at the current resolution
Quit to Quit ResScan so you can adjust your settings
Regardless, it is running
Thanks,
Dave B.
PS I had to only use VC++ 2017; there is only 1 link I used and it does not specify x86 or x64

I get the same error message with every version of ResScan I've run. I just ignore it. Currently using ver 5.6. Since there do not appear to be any user related differences between 5.6 and the latest versions (at least none that have been reported here) I don't update it.

Dave,
you don't need to locate those files to delete them. They are listed in Control Panel, programs and settings and are uninstalled just as any other program.
