OSCAR: Dreamstation 2 Status

The OSCAR team is conducting an Alpha test on the DS2.  It is planned as the next Major release v1.4.x

I know the question is when, the answer is when it is ready.  

As most of you know Philips Respironics has chosen to encrypt the data on the DS2 with a rotating encryption.  Well suffice it to say we can clearly read and display the data.  The developers working on this deserve a well done and an extra cup of coffee.
Currently we are alpha testing the DS2 OSCAR following which we will be beta testing then the Release candidate then the  public release.  It is coming soon.

The usual stupid truth with security theatre -- the only people that it keeps out are the people who own the data!

And as the paranoid one who has been pointing out that PR has zero credibility, I'm waiting to see what DS2 users find when they read their data -- is PR hiding something?

It doesn't look like it. It's literally the same format as the DreamStation 1 wrapped an encrypted package.

As stated above, a DS2 version of OSCAR WILL be launched as soon as it is ready. I anticipate it to be more on the sooner side than the later side.
IF PR changes nothing it will be sooner. IF PR makes a counter move it could be later. I truly hope that doesn't happen.

Hi guys.
Just an idea: Philips is selling DreamStations in EU. Under European GDPR you are entitled to access to ALL medical data gather by a company
, and I mean all as in raw data not just fancy graphs. + If a company is using encryption to lockout other companies (and individuals) to force them to use their, paid service it could be a second good case for European Union institutions to investigate (anty monopoly one really specialises in big fines and here we have one of two biggest players exploiting their market position).

Their solution was that you can access ALL the data from your doctor, as he has access to it.

Now try that on a daily and timely basis.

Yes OSCAR has some deep ties into that community.
