[/color]
Were you aware that a common cause of sleep apnea is childhood orthodontics? I am a professor doing a research project on the health consequences (such as sleep apnea and TMD) of orthodontics with extracted teeth. Could you please help me out and take this 1-Minute Survey if you have had braces with extractions? It is to determine statistically the numbers of people who incur the correlated health consequences. All who respond receive a full report of the correlated health symptoms.
RE: A common unknown cause of obstructive sleep apnea
Off-hand this seems to be a poorly designed study. We have the statement of a hypothesis that childhood orthodontia with tooth extraction may be a common cause of sleep apnea. The request for individuals to complete a survey are entirely from that cohort and thus, will be a self-fulfilling result for the hypothesis as there is no control or other groups to compare against. I would not trust such a survey to be secure or sincere. This looks like harvesting contacts from a group of people that that have a common therapy and outcome, that might be used for a sales pitch or class action.

RE: A common unknown cause of obstructive sleep apnea
I saw this post on reddit too, and it's pretty obvious he isn't an actual researcher/professor from his post history. Sometimes he claims to be a journalist, other times documentary film maker, etc. He seems to just be someone with TMJ who blames his orthodontic extraction treatment. No actual reputable studies are performed through google forms posted on subreddits. The amount of bias incurred is astronomical.
