AHI Numbers looking great but feeling like crap

AHI Numbers looking great but feeling like crap
My AHI numbers in oscar are looking great overall but still having some days where I feel like crap, tired etc, and last night my wife said I was gasping for air alot in the early morning hours. And I recall waking up once struggling to get my breath, And just so happens I feel like crap today.  I have typically had a section of the night where the flow rate goes from a nice steady graph to having a lot of jumps in the rate then evens back out.  Are there any settings I can / should change to try to even things out more, with the really good AHI numbers I am not sure where to go from here.

I havent been on CPAP for very long but have been one of the lucky ones that got used to it quickly and do not have any issues falling alseep with it, I tend to fall asleep right after putting it on each night.

pre cpap AHI was 10 and 28 during REM sleep.

Started on APAP on 3-18
N20 Mask
Airsence 11
7.4-14
EPR 1
No Ramp

Since you are gasping for air, you may benefit from raising your beginning pressure a bit.  I suggest that you raise it to 8.5 for now.  Post an Oscar report tomorrow and tell us how you feel.  I hope you have a better night. Smile

I did raise my beginning pressure to 8.4 last night and that seemed to be alot better. I did forget to put the SD card back in the machine, but I dont recall getting up more than 1 time to use the bathroom and no waking up gasping for air.

I also added a chin strap as I was having issues with opening my mouth late in the night some and either waking up like a dragon or just waking in the morning with a really dry mouth. And my leak rate was way down and I dont recall waking up from opening my mouth.

While I am still rather tired today, today is better than yesterday. This has definitely been a strange journey as some days I wake up with a ton of energy and can spend the day doing yard work etc all day without blinking an eye and other days I'm exhausted and a nap would be great.  I am assuming this is just a matter of getting used to sleeping like a fighter pilot each night even though my AHI is so low on CPAP, at least I hope that is the case. As having the energy I have on good days being the norm is definitely something to look forward to.

This board has been a godsend so far getting used to this, even just reading others experiences and solutions to issues I have seen has been a huge help, and help like you gave yesterday if very much appreciated.  I will record a few days more of data on the current settings and post the results and see if there is anything else that I should adjust.  Thank you.

Remembered to put the card back in last night.  Definitely a better day, with the flow rate going from really smooth to not is there anything I need to do there to help smooth that out?  AHI numbers are great, just looking to dial this in the rest of the way and get the benifits of consistent sleep and next day energy.

Raise EPR up. Try 3 and see how it looks.

That looks good, you have a few leaks in there, and if you want try dialing down max pressure by .5cm. Are you feeling more rested?

RE: AHI Numbers looking great but feeling like crap
Today I am feeling good. One leak did wake me me for a short period last night. I am a rather active sleeper and tend to roll over and push on the mask every now and then. I do have the N20 with memory foam on the way to see if the memory foam helps that any, I had a credit to use anyway…. I tried a couple full face options before I tried the chin strap that just didn’t work. Most days I seem to have more energy but have been hitting these days where I will have a couple days mixed in the week that I am tired all day. The epr 3 setting was definitely more comfortable last night.
