I did not feel any difference in my sleep quality between the 2 machines but quite curious why the significant difference in AHI numbers. Wondering what the experts in this forum have to say. Can I believe these numbers? Do you expect much difference between machines?

AHI difference between DS1 and ResMed S9
I was able to procure a ResMed S9 Escape Auto to temporarily replace my recalled DS1. I understand this unit is a BRICK but I am able to read AHI and pressure data directly from the machine. Since I started using it early last month I noticed that my AHI numbers with the ResMed were significantly lower than my DS1. 30 day AHI average for the Resmed was 1.8 vs 5.4 for the last 30 days I used my DS1. "Pressure" for the RedMed was 12.0, "95% pressure" for DS1 was 12.3 (unknown to me if these pressure numbers are comparable). I used the same P10 nose pillow on both machines. Settings for both machines are identical (set by my DME).
I did not feel any difference in my sleep quality between the 2 machines but quite curious why the significant difference in AHI numbers. Wondering what the experts in this forum have to say. Can I believe these numbers? Do you expect much difference between machines?
RE: AHI difference between DS1 and ResMed S9
EPR is an advantage, even in the Escape.
And ResMed Algorithms are more aggressive, even in the Escape series.

Are you saying the numbers are actually accurate, i.e. ResMed is more effective in delivering much better therapy than the DS? I would assume algorithms between all ResMeds are the same (if not identical) even with the “bottom line” Escape series. |
