RE: ASV Machine
So you have managed to ratchet up your pressure and gotten the same or worse results...Does this actually feel better? Are we done yet?
RE: ASV Machine
Actually the results were very bad. I had large leaks of 121. My hypopnea was 19, but checking them each one lines up with a leak. I'm going to leave things here and try to figure out what caused the leak. It may be that my settings are correct. Thank you!

RE: ASV Machine
One good thing is that you have cleared the UA, so take your wins where you can
Going by the epap line, The machine thinks you are at the right epap number. The 9.6 rose to a median of 10, 95% of 10.6 and varied to a max of 11. You could move to min epap 10, but either way, I think this part is done.
Bad luck about the leak larry. when does the new cushion arrive?
Some of it may be when the rise went to max pressure, trying to overcome the obstruction that have caused the remaining H. Probably the same as the zoomed in you posted. Given this is at max 25cm pressure, It won't be anything to do with your min epap or min ps number, that anyone suggested and the machine disagreed with and determined its own.
You have the machine max numbers open and not choked down, it's just that 25cm isn't clearing them. This would indicate they are positional, probably chin tucking while sleeping on your side? Using a $10 foam cervical collar for a night would tell you if this is the case. You then work on getting the right pillow.
RE: ASV Machine
Ajack, no cushion arriving! Actually nothing is arriving.
The mask sounds a little peculiar when it is leaking. It is taking me a bit to get used to it. It made that sound last night. I'm going to work on it tonight. Tomorrow maybe I'll try to get another cervical collar although it didn't work for me before.
I'm planning on leaving all settings where they are tonight - just working on the leak. Is that ok?

RE: ASV Machine
Positional side-sleeping issue can also be caused by the position of the uppermost shoulder.
For the shoulder that is farthest from the mattress, if the person has that hand up near their pillow, the shoulder can relax into a position that compromises (puts pressure against) the neck. At least this is true for me.
Sort of 'hugging' a pillow that is in front of you, if it is at a certain height, can prevent this from occurring.

RE: ASV Machine
I think the machine pressures are set up fine now. The machine likes the min epap and the max epap and PS settings give the machine room to move.
Kiwii may have a good idea, that it's the weight of the shoulder against the neck, causing obstruction. He might have something there.
I thought you were getting the large cushion? It was also the reason I didn't suggest the link in my signature, or some youtube videos on mask fit. If this is the mask, we can help you get the best fitting.
I still think you have come a long way from 8 days ago.

RE: ASV Machine
I'm sorry, maybe it's my stroke, but I don't understand you. When I'm on my right side, my right hand is normally under the pillow.

RE: ASV Machine
Oh dear - last post was to kiwii; this one is to ajack.
I use a full face mask, Always have and always will. I'm currently using the relatively new foam ResMed which is, I think, the 20. There are no pillows.

RE: ASV Machine
The issue is DEFINITELY mask fit!

RE: ASV Machine
I think kiwi means that when he lays on his right side, The weight of his left shoulder presses on his neck and causes problems?
I also have a f20, but a silicon one. Did you see the thread on the f20? There was a discussion on mask fit. http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-F20?
Read the link in my signature and use the mask fit function on the machine. It provides high pressure while you fit your mask and check for leaks
I'm a visual learner from watching too much TV and like the youtube videos. There are several good videos on the first page. Including one on how to tell if you have the right size.
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_q...stment+f20
see if this gives you what you need to get the mask fitting better. See what works and doesn't work. Then the forum can help you fine tune to your specific problem.
