ASV Settings
I use a ResMed ASV machine.  And I need of advice in getting the correct settings.  I use the ASV only setting. Not the ASV Auto. I do not use the Ramp Up setting.  I have found that I can control my obstructive events with  a minimum pressure of between 10.0 and 11.0.  My current settings are:

EPAP  10
Min PS  3
Max PS 15

I would appreciate any advice on whether these settings are correct and any improvements I can make.

RE: ASV Settings
Read the Sleep Lab Titration Guide section on ASV https://document.resmed.com/en-us/docume...er_eng.pdf Your settings are appropriate for someone that experiences obstructive events below EPAP 10 cm. You could use a range of pressure in ASVauto mode to see how it compares. If interested, just use ASVauto mode with EPAP min 8.0, EPAP max 12.0 and use the same PS range. The ASV auto machine is pretty good at titrating an effective pressure. There is nothing wrong with ASV fixed EPAP mode if that has been working well.

RE: ResMed F30 Mask Headgear
I used to use a Resmed F20 mask.  However, every morning I would awaken to a abrasion rub on the bridge of my nose.  I tried just about everything, but nothing seemed to work to solve the problem.  So I switched to the F30.  Great mask, but only one little problem.  The headgear.  For some unknown reason ResMed issued the mask with a one -size -fits -all headgear.  The problem with that is that is that the headgear doesn't come close to fitting a great many heads.  I am a 6', 180 lb,male.  I must have a small head because the headgear doesn't come close to fitting my head.  It rubbed the top edge of my ears. To top it off, the mask leaks like crazy.

For a solution, I had my wife take in both the upper and lower straps, by about 2" each.  She did this by sewing a fold of the straps at the rear of each strap.  This moved the wider portion of the V-shaped  headgear more forward.  This helps prevent the strap from rubbing the top of the ear.  This not only makes the headgear more comfortable, but it reduces leakage.  By reducing leakage, my AHI scores were reduced by a large number.

ResMed could have easily solved this problem by issuing a different size headgear for each size mask.

RE: ASV Settings
Don't know if the sizing of the Amara View straps will solve it, but the below might help.  A part of PAP sometimes means doing some tweaks.  I have gone that route on headgear a number of times on other masks.

It appears the thread link won't insert because the other forum is a company sponsored forum.  Just Google:  resmed f30 headgear fix yay
