RE: Abdulfakih - Therapy Thread
You still have a pretty high level of leaks. I know you have tried several different masks, but the leaks need to be reduced to get better therapy. Here are some tips. Try these to see if they work.

Guys, I am kinda desperate and I need help
Hello guys,
Over the last week, I received my CPAP and have started to test things out. The last 4 days I have noticed that I was opening my mouth during my sleep, which defeated the whole purpose of my treatment, so i started to look for solutions. What I found on reddit is that I might need a full face mask. However, I already have 3 masks (All pillows), so i didnt want to buy any other masks before making sure that it was going to be the one. So, I went to a local pharmacy and found some chinese knock off of a full face mask, to at least try the concept of it, because it looks exactly the same as the F20 from resmed (please see image attached for results). As you can see, that mask was leaking A LOT. So here is my question; What kind of mask can I get that will have the best full face seal available. I dont care if its not confortable, i just want to get some good sleep. Some context: I dont live in the US, I live in venezuela, which means I need to import anything to the country, buy it myself because my insurance does not cover it and it has a lead time of at least a week to arrive.

The new Resmed Airfit F40 seems to have been very positively reviewed here on the forum. It's only been around a few months, but is uses nose pillows with a mouth cup that results in minimal size, weight and a comfortable fit that does not go over the bridge of the nose. There is a thread discussing it https://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread...AirFit-F40
Regarding your CPAP settings, try changing EPR from setting 1 to 3. That will make things more comfortable and resolve the flow limitations that are increasing pressure. You're on the right track to resolve the leaks.

I am concerned about that mask because it seems as my cousin has it and he says it leaks on his nose, and I want a mask that cannot leak even when I open my mouth. Will try to increase EPR and see how it goes

RE: So... What now?
I have the best results on cpap mode, so I advocate for changing to that mode if running APAP, so set it to CPAP @ 12.cm with EPR on 3 fulltime, give it a few nights and see if your AHI drops and what you feel, it drops for most people when switched over.

What would be the difference between the CPAP mode to 12cm all night? Sorry for my ignorance, im new to this |
