Aerophagia

Hi. I had terrible aerophagia for years until someone on reddit suggested I have positional aponea. They said to wear a neck collar and BOOM my life changed. AHI down to 1.8 max most nights and no more aerophagia. I never stoppped using CPAP as I have a weird version where I have few but very long non breathing periods meaning my SATs go to very low levels.

Anyway that was then. The last few weeks aerophagia is back. Man it hurts. Collar is still firm and I just dont know why. Can leaks relate to this. I seem to have many recent mask leaks

I have read where GERD can contribute to aerophagia when using pap by decreasing the "closing" "tightening" function of the upper esophageal sphincter (it can voluntarily open during swallowing).  

Have you ever had any symptoms of GERD?  

If other members have suggestions as to why this is happening now, please post.  Thank you very much.
