I'm a 52M on a benzo withdrawal. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea with a home sleep study and got a ResMed AirSense 10 AutoPap. Since I've been on it,it feels like it's not working. I also got an Wellue o2 ring to monitor my o2 and HR. It looks like my o2 sat levels keeps dipping to around 87-88 at it's lowest. Can you look at my data?

RE: Don't Know If CPAP Therapy Is Working
I would wait for the benzo to clear and give it some time. I was on that crap for 10 years and even at the minimal dose I was on (1mg every 8 hrs) I had bad withdrawls.

There are other treatment options for 'mild' apnea. look up the excite osa device. It's like a tens unit that strengthens the tongue.

Also, CPAP therapy does take time to get used to and varies quite a bit from person to person. Your body has to relearn how to breathe properly under pressurized air.

I have been on my machine over a month and I'm still getting used to it. My apnea numbers under treatment are very low. But fully restful sleep is slow in coming.

Do you think the benzo withdrawal is making things worse? How does the graph look? Anything I need to change to make things easier for me?

There is no way to tell. But I doubt it would help sleep apnea.  You need to do several things.

1, Talk to your Dr.

2, Be patient and stay on the CPAP.  It really does take time to get used to it even if your apneas are gone.  The vast majority of folks here can tell you that it took time to adapt to breathing under pressure.

Not to diminish it.  But you have mild Apnea. So as I eluded to. There are nonsurgical alternatives to CPAP such as the Exciteosa, Or even a nasal valve EPAP insert.

nasal EPAP

ExciteOSA

Again, Talk to your Dr.

As has been mentioned, see your doctor and give CPAP Therapy some time. It does take a while to really realize an improvement.  Eat-popcorn

Here's a new chart. Don't know where that RERA came from. Never seen that before.

To help you better we need you to set up your Oscar chart a little differently.  On the main page, we need to see all of the following:

Event Flags
Flow Rate
Pressure
Leak Rate
Flow Limits

We need to be able to read to the very bottom of the Flow Limits.

Thanks! Smile
Machine:  ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto
Mask:  Bleep DreamPort Sleep Solution
