Hypochlorous acid disinfectant spray for cleaning masks

RE: Hypochlorous acid disinfectant spray for cleaning masks
I spray the mask with isopropyl alcohol and wipe it down with tissues. It does not seem to harm silicon as some claim.  I change the cushion 1x a month and the mask every 6 months so maybe that's why the silicone is not showing damage that some claim will occur if isopropyl is used to clean it.
I only give suggestions from experience as a fellow CPAP user, not professional advice.

Just skimmed a couple studies posted on another forum. I think I've been overthinking CPAP cleaning, and apparently many people do.

Simple warm water and soap is plenty. I doubt the vinegar soak I've been doing is necessary. And the hypochlorous acid sprays do, in fact, break down into saline remarkably quickly.

Some white vinegar works great if you have any mineral build-up. Just add enough to cover the build-up and let it soak for 30 min. or so.

Dump it out, rinse with water, and then wipe dry with a paper towel.  Cool

It was interesting to hear about hypochlorus acid, especially with norovirus going around.  Is there any way to store it and keep it on hand for emergencies?  For example, unopened in a dark, cool place, how long will it last?

What I realized about masks is that any germs are my own, and they'll be back as soon as I put it on again.  If I keep my face and hands clean, and wash my mask periodically to remove any accumulations of oil, lotion, sweat, etc., the mask should be fine to use.

There are two things that I occasionally wonder about.  First, what is that black stuff that grows on the QuietAir vent filters in the p30i and n30i masks?  Is it mold?  Second, is there any chronically damp place inside the machine or tubing where harmful mold or something like Legionnaire's disease could grow?  I try to air out my mask every day and remove the water chamber promptly to reduce internal moisture.  That said, I haven't noticed anything.

From what I've read this stuff is very, very unstable. No way to make it last too long by keeping it cool and dark. After a couple months, tops, it's done,

The good news is our equipment does not need to be 'sanitized'. Just warm soapy water does what is needed. I'm over worrying about it.
