BUG REPORTS for new forum software [Thread Now Closed]
RE: BUG REPORTS for new forum software
Ed, we've got Google fonts installed on the forum.  I was under the impression that doing that allows pretty much all GUI browsers to use the font (verdana).

In any case, we've been using the verdana font for posts since 2012, and this is the first time I've heard of not designating a default font for posts in the global.css file and this is the first time someone told me we shouldn't do that.  But again, I don't know a whole lot about css, so keep that in mind.

RE: BUG REPORTS for new forum software
Hey SuperSleeper,

I was away since your last post about struggling to get the new server online.  Last night I got back from a trip and popped over to the forum.

Wow!  Love the new look, so clean and modern.

Also noticed the LinkedIn profile, I guess because of the new social buttons.  Looks nice, too.  I'm probably not likely to join the LinkedIn group, not eager to broadcast medical conditions to colleagues and potential employers.  But I see there are followers, so maybe that's just peculiar to me.

Anyways, wanted to say GREAT JOB on the server upgrade.  And congrats on the success of apneaboard being the number one resource online for people with sleep apnea to find help and a great community.

All the hard work of you and the test team is much appreciated.

Thanks for your kind words, Saldus.

It would not be possible without the help of many people around here who help to make Apnea Board what it is today.

We have a special "Apnea Board Philosophy" that makes this place unique.  It was outlined in this post.

Thanks

RE: BUG REPORTS for new forum software
When I use the Chromium browser in Linux Debian Jessie, every post I select comes up with the top bit covered by a banner with the logo, my name, and a logout link...
See this screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2vbztic6slqom4...1.png?dl=0

It's a bit annoying to have to scroll every post, but not really critical - don't lose sleep over it.

I love the grey with blue speckles background - a perfect level of contrast. Great work on the upgrade.

RE: BUG REPORTS for new forum software
Phil, see the first post here in this thread.  That is bug #4:

Quote:4.  When clicking on the "Next Newest" link at the bottom of a thread (or other links that lead to the post ID [PID]), it loads the next newest post incorrectly, cutting off the top few lines in the post, so members must scroll up a bit to see the entire post.

Our theme developer is working on a fix and hopes to have that done by this weekend.

Thanks

I see the same thing using Firefox on Linux Mint 18.3

RE: BUG REPORTS for new forum software
Yep, it's happening on all platforms.  A fix is on the way, hopefully (see my post above).

Also, the theme developer is aware of and will try to fix the issue on some mobile devices with search results and viewing PMs properly.

RE: BUG REPORTS for new forum software
Might have to wait until Monday or so for the theme developer's fix of the scrolling header issue.

Until then, I'm trying to figure out how to turn off the scrolling header completely - at least until we get that function working properly.

Thanks for your patience, folks.

This isn't a bug but a question. Is the Thread count, listed under the member's post count. new?  If it isn't new, then Boy! do I have "Sometimers".

I think a lot of us have a low thread-start ratio to total posts. I certainly do. It shows you're helpful.
