Best travel CPAP?
At home I use a ResMed Air Sense 10, and am very happy with it.
But, I'm now travelling a fair amount for work, and would like to find something smaller -- my CPAP is often the difference between being able to travel with just carry-on or needing to check a suitcase.
I'm not quite sure which travel CPAP is best. I'm looking for:
- As small and light as possible
- Auto-adjusting air pressure
- Reasonably quiet (the ResMed is great; slightly noisier would probably be ok too)
- Able to work with (or adapt to) standard hoses. The Dreamwear full face mask works much better for me than any other mask, and I'd like to use it when travelling too.
- Ideally, with a humidifier. But, if need be, I can manage without a humidifier on trips
- I'd very much like it to save results that can work with Sleepyhead. But, if need be, I guess I can manage without that
Ideas?
Thanks,
David
RE: Best travel CPAP?
Many Carriers class CPAP as a medical device that does not count as carry on so I just hang it in its own bag over my roller case which is my normal carry on as an extra free bag, I would not check my vpap machine
RE: Best travel CPAP?
Unless you need/want a separate machine, it may be best to take your current with you. As a medical device, it normally won't count as luggage. Do carry it with, not as checked.

You can make the resmed 10 easier to carry by getting a small soft side cooler. If you use the humidifier every night at home you will miss it if you get a travel machine with no humidifier.
RE: Best travel CPAP?
I travel with the Resmed Air Mini, it doesn't take up much room in the bag and is quieter than my Dreamstation. I travel 40 weeks/year so it gets used more than my home machine. I know I could carry on my machine but traveling every week I don't want to carry 2 bags in the airport and car rental plus my luggage.
