[CPAP] CPAP titration help please

Question
CPAP titration help please
Hi all,

I have been using Airsense 10 for 8 weeks. I still get lots of CA events. OA is quite low. I have 0-3 OA depending on the night. However, I still get tons of CAs. I thought they would go away as my body gets used to CPAP. It's been 8 weeks and I am concerned. What should I change to reduce CAs? Another issue is that I still wake up once in the middle of the night between 3am-5:30am, sometimes a little earlier, sometimes later. I would love to sleep through the night. I am not sure what causes it. Please help.

I would try lowering my EPR and see if that makes much of a difference.  I would try EPR 1 for a night or 2 and see how the centrals are...

I tried that before and it did not make much a difference in CAs. I also tried to reduce the pressure and it would go up automatically because of OAs.

What data does your sleep study report include? Post this detailed report redacted of your personal info, especially doctor recommendation notes and the event table with type and count.

If you didn't yet get it, call the doctor's office and request the detailed sleep study report. This will help with it comes down to identifying issues with Central Apnea.

You gotta fix your leak rate, way too high.

This can cause CA events cause you blow off too much CO2 .

Possibly mouth breathing?

Do you sometimes sleep on your back?
Looks like some positional there too maybe..

I just got my CA events under control after 35 years!

In the middle of the post is a link that talks about leaks as well...

Correct on the leaks. I missed seeing that earlier. Too high average leaks with sometimes going over the ResMed leak redline. Wider, flattened leak patterns point to mouth leaks typically.

A sleep study has been scheduled and it will come soon. I bought a machine a while ago and tried to address my sleep problems myself. I am certain I have obstructive apneas.

Yeah, my leak is high sometimes. I use a P10 nasal pillow mask. I tried to tighten it to the most. It does not leak much when I sleep on my back. However, when I turn left or right, it leaks more. I am mostly a back sleeper. During sleep, I would roll to either side. Thanks for sharing the post. I will check it out.
