[CPAP] ResMed AirSence10 Auto Elite-full face.

ResMed AirSence10 Auto Elite-full face.
First night using CPAP!  My wife loves it like .  First time in 28 years that she hasn't left the bed because of my snoring.  Got this machine -then found this forum.  Kinda the reverse of what I usually do but from comments here it looks like I was lucky in my choice.  My brother has been a user for 20 years so I leaned on him.  He uses a DreamStation, which is what the VA supplies, and that is what I asked Norco for but in the interview the guy is a user and recommended this CPAP - so I went with it.
Impressions:  Woke up once for a BANO break.  Goofed up the mask fit and had to resort to reading the book to get all the straps back in the correct place.  Also had to up the humidity from 3 to 4 because of a dry throat.  Back to sleep for another 4 hours.  All in all - really good sleep.  I was concerned that I was getting some leakage around both ends of my lips - just didn't feel right - myAir reported no problem.

myAir numbers:  92; 9hrs use=70/70, Mask seal=17/20, Events 5/5, Total 92/100.

Anxious to go with nose pillows - but don't know how to tell if I sleep with my mouth open.  Calling Norco today to see if they'll give me those now.
Thanks for listening.   Sleep-well

Welcome.  The nose pillows replace the full coverage mask...it's how you get pressurized.  So, if you do resort to mouth breathing, maybe you should keep using the full coverage or try the tongue-lift technique, or use a chin strap, or tape over your lips as I do.

There won't be any mysteries about mouth breathing if it happens.  You'll awaken due to the noise or feel the gale of wind emerging from your mouth, or you'll awaken with a terrible dry mouth and tongue.  BLECHHH!!

We all eventually find the 'best fit' for ourselves, and I like that you are apparently open-minded.  My first night using a nasal mask was horrible because I was mouth breathing, so I now tape and shrug when people express their reservations and concerns about covering that 'insurance' orifice. Works for me.
