CPAP Rx

.pdf   CNSM CPAP Order Form12100148.pdf (Size: 181.96 KB / Downloads: 7) Hi all - I was just diagnosed with mild OSA and have a question. Attached is my Rx for my machine - I see that it says auto-pap - I want the Resmed AirSense 11 (I told them this early on before I knew how any of this worked, which is why it is on the Rx - you can ignore that piece). I see that there is an auto-set version CPAP AS11 - will I be able to get this based off what the Rx states, and does this machine have both the capacity to be an APAP and CPAP

Also, is there a reason that my doctor chose APAP opposed to CPAP? Should I push for CPAP? I know that this is a big decision and want to get your thoughts before I go back to my doctor.

I am clearly clueless so any input is greatly appreciated!

RE: CPAP Rx
Yes, you should be able to get the AirSense 11 based upon your prescription but you need to be forceful with your durable medical equipment provider and repeatedly tell them that you want the AirSense 11 otherwise they'll give you the cheapest alternative. The AirSense 11 does both APAP and CPAP and sleep doctors recommend APAP because it's easy. The first thing I'd recommend is making sure you get an SD card with your cpap, download OSCAR and share your results here so we can help you fine tune your therapy.

If you want to get a head start, set the machine to 7-15cmH20 on APAP.

Appreciate the response. I think I am leaning towards buying it myself, so I can't be boxed in by my DME. Thank you very much!
