[CPAP] RedMed10 Water Chamber question
#21
RE: RedMed10 Water Chamber question
Received my CPAP Resmed humidifier today.  It now has a circle on the bottom of it.
So, going forward the 37299 now has a circular bottom.

RE: RedMed10 Water Chamber question
My husband and I both got new ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto machines, mine late last year, his in January, and both humidifier chambers have the round bottoms.  I like them better.  I don't know if they really do, but they seem to hold more water.  I never use up all the water as I sometimes used to do with the square bottom ones.

RE: RedMed10 Water Chamber question
The new water chamber which I received today had a round heating plate on the bottom.  My old one was square.  I guess I received the new, improved version.

They say that the circular component is stainless steel - but I have had rusting in six different spots on it. Aeroflow did has not responded to my concerns. Anyone else having similar issues with the new chamber?

RE: RedMed10 Water Chamber question
I have had the Air-sense 10 since 10/2020. I have been sent the square bottom water tub with each re-supply.

In February, they sent me a tub with the small round piece vs the large square metal plate.

It began rusting within a few days!

I only use distilled water, and every a.m. I rinse it out, stick the nasal pillow thingy in the tub, use a squirt of Dawn foam, shake and leave it alone. After ~15 min (or all day if I forget) I empty, rinse tub out, remove inner gasket and let it all air dry.

Before using Dawn, I was using baby shampoo - per my original respiratory tech at set-up, and began experiencing red mold.i had to wait for my next round of supplies, began using dawn, and no further issues.

Yesterday I was on the phone talking to the DME co because I was sent the tub with the small round circle. I kept getting kicked up the tree, finally spoke with someone who said that the newer unit is the small round metal circle device. They have the same stock number, made in same place. The only different number was under the QR code box, there is a 4 digit number.

She is going to investigate and call me back. I asked what do I do if the round one begins rusting again. She didn’t know.

I plan to contact Res-med, and will post any info I find - from either source. The DME company or Res-Med.

RE: RedMed10 Water Chamber question
Funny you switched to Dawn. My experience is just the opposite.

I started by using Dawn with my weekly tub-and-tube washing and found I  had to wipe out the red stuff from the tub, whatever it was (mold?). It didn't look like something I wanted to breathe in. And couldn't check for it in the mask and hose.

After I switched to Dr. Bronner's Castile Baby Soap (unscented), no more red stuff.
