Can't Wait for Bedtime!

Can't Wait for Bedtime!
I finally got my CPAP machine this afternoon! Two days short of four months from first seeing my primary care manager about apnea. My insurance made it a slow process every step of the way, but it was worth the wait to pay only $80 at pickup and $13.55/month starting next month. Best yet, I found out my insurance doesn't have any compliance requirements!

My sleep doctor highly recommended a local DME named DASCO and their rep who took care of me was great! Jessica was very personable and very knowledgeable, not only about the equipment, but also about my insurance and soon to come Medicare. She was cool with me knowing how to get in to the provider settings… and get this… she knows about ApneaBoard!

The only nasal pillows she said they found they need to carry is the ResMed AirFit P10. Seems all their customers love them. They aren't too tight even on my large head with one strap behind the head and one over the top. Light and quiet! Happy, happy!

I've got the Toshiba wifi card, but I think I'll wait a bit to set it up. My doc wants the card at the 30 day followup. I've already got SleepyHead set up and Encore Basic running on a Mac with Crossover (Wine), so I'm ready to start tracking some data! But first, I gotta gather some!

Tongue Suck Technique for prevention of mouth breathing:
  • Place your tongue behind your front teeth on the roof of your mouth
  • let your tongue fill the space between the upper molars
  • gently suck to form a light vacuum

Practising during the day can help you to keep it at night

Well, I won't say Welcome since it looks like you have been a member for a few months and are a member of Annie's secret circle. Wink set your pin to B2.

Glad to see you are making positive progress.
Using FlashAir W-03 SD card in machine. You can download your data through wifi with FlashPAP or Sleep Master utilities.

I wanted to learn Binary so I enrolled in Binary 101. I seemed to have missed the first four courses. Big Grinnie

Stick it to the man, Download OSCAR and take back control of your data!

Thanks Ian. Like I didn't have enough Honey-Do projects to tackle. Mornincoffee

I have the same feeling even after almost two months, "I can't wait to get to sleep."

It is soooo nice to sleep again.

Thanks all! Smile Good catch, AlanE. I've been MIA for the last month, because thinking about CPAP after three months without one was getting me frustrated--watched pot syndrome, I figured. Who'd thunk it would take another whole month after the doc submitted the prescription?

At any rate, this (AHI 1.13) is a whole lot better than a night of AHI 48.3! (cat got me up at 4:00)

Not sure why it reported Humidifier set at X3 and disconnected. Humidity and hose heat were both on 2. Edit: …and it used 1/2 tank of water.

wow. it also looks like you got dialed in pretty good. your pressure only goes up during programmed pressure bumps - part of the Respironics standard operation.

welcome to the user crowd.

RE: Can't Wait for Bedtime!
Thanks! An APAP set at 9-13 was recommended by the titration study report. I think they know my sleep doctor only prescribes autos--the DME knew that. The only thing I changed from the DME's settings was to set SYSTEM ONE Resistance to X1 for the nasal pillows. I haven't used ramp yet.

Second night was even better. 0.78 Wife got up with the cat so I could sleep more.
