A setting of 5 should not be a problem unless he is getting condensation in the tubing that is building up until it spurts intermittently. My S9 humidifier is currently running at 5.5 with no problems.

i lowered to 4 last night and didn't have any problems. I also had the hose going from the mask down to the floor then back up to the s9. i moved the hose along my headboard so there were no low spots. AHI was 1.1-1.8 the past two days so hopefully if i can maintain that level i will finally start to feel better
