Actually, some insurance will cover based upon RDI. My AHI was 1 (lab) or 3 (home) but RDI on home was 6.9 and insurance approved on the first try. Like everything related to insurance your mileage may vary.

ac123, you will most likely get a CBCT scan from an orthodontist. The issue is finding an orthodontist who will also analyze your airway as most orthodontists will only use it to analyze teeth. I needed a referral first, and luckily my ENT was able to refer me to an orthodontist in my area who specializes in sleep.

Thank you so much! Now that I knew what to look for, it ends up my dentist offers them. Not sure if they'll do interpretation for airway or not, but they do discuss sleep apnea on their website.  I will contact them about this!
