My first results
Hopefully I have got this right.I am not expecting too much help here as the info is very limited so far, only used it twice.Had to have a break for a couple of days as we went away and so could not be doing with it in all honesty. So from what I have here,is there anything anyone can point out that I should or should not be concerned with? I did wake up early hours and took the mask off again, this I think was due to me just being uncomfortably hot last night, been using the spare room which is in the middle floor and is thereofre the warmest compared to upstairs, besides I forgot to open the window.I had the humidifier on but am considering not using that tonight,I guess the use of a humidifier is down to personal preference if you suffer with a dry throat? I imagine we all handle air temeratures differently,or will it be a case that when it gets cold it will be needed?

RE: My first results
Your results are satisfactory considering you are using wide-open settings with EPR at 3. If you find that pressure relief comfortable, I'd like to encourage you to change your minimum pressure so the EPR remains constant, and you have a faster response to obstructive events. Setting the minimum CPAP pressure at 7.0 with EPR at 3 results in a consistent 7/4 pressure. If pressure needs to rise it continues to have the same EPR of 3. With your current settings, you start at 4/4, and proceed to 5/4, 6/4 and so forth.
It is the exhale pressure that needs to be elevated to prevent OA, and it is the pressure differential between inhale and exhale that helps relieve hypopnea. Changing minimum pressure to 7 should help with both of those events, and should remain very comfortable. The mask leaks are physical movement of the mask, and will probably diminish as you adapt to this. Get comfortable, open the window, consider raising minimum pressure.

Thank you much appreciated,Yeh I do realise about the mask leaks and as you say more as likely due to movement.I am also looking at changing out the mask shortly either to another FFM or a nasal one.I will change those settings tonight and see how a I fair out. |
