Number of AHI shown in report
My report shows AHI the like of 2.5, 3.5., 1.5., 5.5
Can anyone please explain how one can have an AHI which is not a whole number?

RE: Number of AHI shown in report
G'day boomerang. Welcome to Apnea Board.
The AHI (and the other indices AI, CAI, HI) are all averages - take the total number of events, divided by the number of hours of sleep. So if you had 125 events over 7 hours the AHI would be 125 / 7 = 17.86
I may be telling you something you already know, but the main indices used are:
- AI: Apnea Index
- HI: Hypopnea index
- AHI: Apnea / hypopnea index (= AI + HI)
- CAI: Central apnea index.
