RE: Severe Sleep Apnea - Titration Test Completed
You are already sick and the CPAP will not spread the infection you are fighting to yourself. The CPAP mask exhaust can spread expired virus particles to your living space which may be a risk to others if the infection can be airborne. The use of CPAP actually provides filtered air that may prevent some illness and when you're sick the fresh inhaled air does not come from your immediate breathing zone, so you are actually inhaling less of your previously expired air. I have never discontinued CPAP for any illness, and if you can tolerate it, neither should you.

OH! Okay I wasn't sure what to do! Thank you for the advice! Okay! Ya I think my tonsils are inflamed (yes I still have them at the age of 50 as the doctors never wanted to remove them even though I had bad tonsillitis all through my childhood and teen years) as they are sore. I have worked on my sleep position and tried different pillows and think I have improved any obstructive positions so at least it is getting better that way. I am slowly able to sleep longer but I may have gotten sick by people coughing around me at Church. May be time to wear a mask again in public due to being immunosuppressed from the transplant. Annoying but you get used to it. You could say I was overdue for a cold or upper respiratory infection anyway since I didn't have any the last 2 winters lol. (I know it doesn't work that way but with people not taking as many precautions now that the pandemic is pretty much over in people's minds, I am more likely to get sick compared to the last previous years).
I see my Sleep Doctor (I know they are not called that but easier to say than respiratologist or what ever he is called) on Dec 14th so I am curious what he will say and I know it is important to become more constant on my machine so that he is better able to tell what adjustments I need in my care.

I tried to use my CPAP again but it was forcing mucus into my lungs since I am still sick. I have to be careful about that as I have had pneumonia 9 times in my life and the last time I had to be intubated. Don't want that to happen again. It is a viral upper respiratory tract infection that I have. I wasn't clear last time about what I didn't want pushed into my lungs. Not the germs. I meant all the mucus. I have a high tendency to get a lot when sick.
I have been sleeping propped up though in the meantime as I know how important it is to get adequate oxygen to my head while I sleep. Also, I am using a thing that is usually used during travel if you fall asleep sitting up, to keep my chin from dropping. Not the most ideal but good enough for now.
