Do I have Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome (UARS)?
#1
Severe Brain fog and Fatigue
Experiencing for the past 10 months was fatigue (lethargy), brain fog, headache, acne, oily skin, sweating, increased thirst, heartburn, burning sensation in the stomach, poor recovery of muscle soreness.

1) Is there a correlation in swelling airway with mucus, sinus or rhinitis and upper airway resistance syndrome?
2) Is swelling airway with mucus normal?
3) Can a nasal endoscopy check for swelling airway, sinus or rhinitis or signs of uars?
4) If you are cleared from sleep apnea, am I safe from uars?

RE: Severe Brain fog and Fatigue
1. Surely, but I don't know how strong or which references to point you to.  Any narrowing that restricts flow is going to result in resistance to that flow, and the need for increased fan speed to get you the air you need;

2. It may be 'normal' in response to a condition about which neither of us has any inkling.  Perhaps an ENT specialist could help.  It's pollen season, and you're a year older;

3. Scans can tell by sectional imagery if and where there is any apparent narrowing or inflammation; and

4. No, not by any means.   Sleep can be poor for several reasons, but chiefly it is disturbances causing arousals and interference with the onset of successive stages of sleep.  It can be leg movements, poor body position, neck alignment, illness, indigestion (late evening eating or snacking), GERD, ...the list goes on.  A narrowed air passage could be indicated as well.

Welcome to 1g0tquestions, as a new member of ApneaBoard!

By the way, if you're already a PAP system user, please update your member profile to let us know details of your PAP system.  To do so, click on "UserCP" on the top right page and then "Edit Profile" on the side page.

There are are large variety of members, with many different situations and experiences.  In order to more quickly get responses from those with more experience UARS, I'd suggest putting that in your subject line.

Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome (UARS)
ad been experiencing these symptoms for about 10 months; fatigue (lethargy), brain fog, headache, acnes, oily skin, sweating, heartburn, burning sensation in the stomach, slow recovery of muscle soreness and feeling irritated/frustrated from time to time.

Did a in-lab sleep study and result shown negative for sleep apnea. Anyone in the community well-versed in interpreting the uploaded result for Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome (UARS)?

Additional questions:
1) Is there a correlation in swelling airway with mucus, sinus, or rhinitis and upper airway resistance syndrome?
2) What causes swelling airway with mucus and is it considered normal?
3) Will a nasal endoscopy be able to check for sinus, or rhinitis or hint of uars?
4) Based on the posted document and question, am I safe from uars?
