Do I have to "clean" my heated CPAP hose?

Do I have to "clean" my heated CPAP hose?
I looked in search, but didn't really see what I need advice on. I NEVER clean my heated CPAP hose. When I examine it, it looks crystal clear, with no evidence of spots or build up of any type of material. A little finger put into the ends shows the inside tubing to be smooth and like new. I received a response to a comment on a YouTube video about cleaning that essentially stated, I was an idiot for this practice. As far as I know I suffer no ill effects from not cleaning the tube. Am I crazy? I am a retired MD so understand bacteria/infections etc. I do worry actually about toxic residue from cleaning products much more.

Any helpful comments?

I clean mine in soapy water about once every 2 or 3 weeks. I know some crud gets in there because I saw crud on the fan blades when I replace the motor.

Mine is around 4 years old. Has been cleaned maybe 3-4 times in warm water with a spot of dish soap.

Occasional Dawn like dish soap and very warm water, even soaked sometimes. Once per several months. Air dry both ends hanging down. Absolutely not on a strict schedule. Applies to when I was treated on ASV.

I used to clean them once a month, but stopped cleaning my heated hoses about a year ago. I really don't notice a difference one way or another.
Since insurance sends replacements on a regular schedule, I just replace the hose if needed.

Never clean a tube. I do clean the mask cushion and humidifier chamber. I do get a new one from insurance every 6-months, but I don't even swap it out regularly and have a bit of inventory.

Naw, don't clean the tube, I usually replace it every 8 months or so. Only spray down my mask with solution then wipe it off, spray out the elbow an air dry, rinse and air dry the humidifier chamber and thats it.

I guess I should clarify my prior answer. Rinsing the hose is what I did a few times after getting onto the ASV. I did rinse it out for about the first 2 months, on about a weekly schedule. After that, it didn't seem like it was worth it. I replaced hose rinsing time with coffee drink and relax time.
