Dreamstation 2 software (Dreammapper)

Dreamstation 2 software (Dreammapper)
Greetings from Denmark,

Tomorrow my Dreamstation will be replaced with a Dreamstation 2.
When I got the Dreamstation Philips didn't have a functioning Dreammapper in Europe, probably due to GDPR  restrictions.
Eight months later, I could take advantage of Dreammapper on my PC and my Android phone.
Now, I wonder if I'll have to wait many months before a solution is available for Europe.

Best regards,

Eric

Thank you, Gideon. I've had my current Dreamstation for three years and now, due to problems with the plastic noise-limiting foam's degradation, I'll be getting a replacement tomorrow. When I get home with the new machine I'll need to read the OSCAR documentation.
One quick question: Does Oscar read the SD card in my computer?

Best regards,

Eric

Hi EricDK! Yes, OSCAR will read the SD from your computer's SD card reader.   I normally recommend creating a dedicated directory on your computer and update the SD card's data to it.   SD cards can go bad and, at the same time, allow you to easily make a copy of the card if you need to take it to your Doctor's office. You can use the same directory to import the data into OSCAR as well.

Eric,
when you get your DS2 please PM me. DS2 is not included in our production version of OSCAR yet, it will be soon. But we do have what appears to be a fairly stable Alpha version but it is by invite only.

Now, that I've been using my DreamStation 2 for about 14 months I wanted to try reading the SD card from the DreamStation with Oscar.
Every time I turn off the CPAP blower to disconnect, the device's display reports SD activity, so I assume data is being written to the SD card.
But today, after carefully removing the SD card from my CPAP, when I insert the card in my laptop's SD card reader slot, Windows reacts to the insertion by asking me to insert a card. This is quite perplexing.
Usually, I make do with the daily DreamMapper reports on my phone but after a long operation a couple of months ago, where I was intubated upwards of 6 hours, my number of total obstructive apneas each night has increased considerably so I would like to see if it is possible to determine when during the night the obstructive apneas occur.
But this seems impossible, when Windows won't read the data. Could it be Philips' encryption?

I would appreciate any advice to help me read the data.

Best regards,

Eric

First, If you are not using OSCAR v1.4.0, you will need that version to read the DS2's data. If that is not the case, insert your card into your computer and open your File Explorer (shortcut: Windows key + E). See if the card is showing up as a drive. If it is not, you may have a bad SD card.

Hello again,

I installed the latest version of OSCAR 1.4.0 before inserting the SD card. When trying to open a file via OSCAR, the drive (SD card) didn't appear in the file open dialogue box. So, I tried File Explorer which had assigned a drive letter yet asked to have a card inserted. This made me think that there was a special file system since Windows couldn't read anything.
It is rather odd since the DreamStation claims to be writing to the SD card every time I stop the blower.
Tomorrow I'll try reading the card in another card reader on another laptop.
Ultimately, I might have to find a tool to recover data from the SD card.

Best regards,

Eric

Hello again,

After yesterday's attempts to read th SD-card, I tried another laptop's card reader but that laptop didn't even notice when I inserted the SD-card.
This morning I inserted the SD-card in my laptop's card reader before opening Oscar. This time the laptop could read the SD-card. So now, I have been able to copy the card to my computer and let Oscar analyze the data. Oscar revealed that our national health system gave me an SD-card that another patient must have used before I got the card. Now my final question: Any recommendation as to which brand of SD-card I should acquire to ensure reliable data collection?

Best regards,

Eric

Brand matters little, any size, 8gb will last for many years.
