Under most insurance companies, folks who use their CPAPs regularly get to keep them after 13 months. There are compliance bench marks that must be met before the 13 month goal. These include consistent usage (hours per day for a certain number of consecutive days, quantitatively) during the first 3 months. Most CPAP newbies can't demonstrate compliance somewhere during the 13 months and their machine is confiscated.
