AnxiousPickle - Therapy Thread
#11
RE: AnxiousPickle - Therapy Thread
It's possible to get a racing heart and anxiety if your settings aren't correct. IME even the humidity settings can make for problems, and it sounds as though you're getting congested.

I would recommend that you use your setup while awake, either reading or watching TV, so you get used to it. Put some hours on it that way. Do some everyday. Learn how to relax with the equipment on. Above all, make sure you enjoy the humidity settings. You can do this while you're sitting around awake. Right now, they are little humidity and very cold. I would not be able to handle that, but this is an individual preference. Try out one adjustment at a time in the typical temperature for your home. But, yes, while you're awake. IMO it's dangerous to have your heart racing while you're pregnant when there's no reason for it.

Given the heart beats and anxiety, I wouldn't tape your mouth until you have more experience. If your mouth is apt to pop open, and it gets very dry, use a soft cervical collar, at least for the time being.

Turn your ramp off. It looks like it blasts your mask off when the pressure tops out (causing leaks) and makes you jump out of your skin.

I use a Resmed F40. I love it. If you get that one, be sure to order the right size cushions.
