[Equipment] DiabolikalDeux - Therapy Assistance
#41
RE: DiabolikalDeux - Therapy Assistance
So I did try the lozenges after finding them at the pharmacy, it did keep my mouth wet, but then other problems emerged. Like I just, it just made me hyper-awake or or something, I was fatigued when I got in bed, but then, it's like my legs would not stop moving all around, my face felt itchy, I could feel my jaw cramping, my eyeballs felt like they were straining to pop out of my head, I even got out of bed with the mask and machine on to try and push the air to get some of that energy out of me. I did not last an hour awake, and I'm ready to dial it down to 6 with 2 EPR or something, because doing this makes me hyper.

Try turning your ramp off, with min = max = 6 and EPR of 2, or min = max = 7 and EPR of 3. Lots of people feel air-starved with pressures lower than 6 or 7. Capping your pressure may lead to more OAs, but if it does, that's good information to have.

I'll try at, only 6 if I am reading you right, but it's like, ramp or not, I feel suddenly supercharged and stuff like the legs and the eyeballs, I feel like giving up to be honest. My health care provider's sleep study clinic does not even show in the website, on a separate but related note.

It might be you have Periodic Leg Movement, which needs to be medically addressed. Consult with your doctor to get an opinion.

I did look it up, I'm not sure but I contacted them anyway (they're out until the 29th). The weird thing though is that my legs calmed down once I removed the mask and tried to fall asleep without it. Still not sure why my eyes felt like they were trying to pop out though.

I wonder whether you were having something like an anxiety episode. At any rate, I'll be curious to see how things go with the revised settings.

Sadly it did not help, barely got over 30 minutes. I was doing some looking, it sounds like there are rare cases of mania or something connected with CPAP? I'm not sure, mainly just going off one older social media post I found, but I'll include the screenshot from OSCAR. Happy holidays, have a merry Christmas, maybe I can figure this out after.

Do you think you were asleep for any of this?

I'm sorry it's a struggle for you. Give yourself a break and then when you're ready to try again, begin by using the machine outside your bedroom while you do something else. If your mask doesn't accommodate glasses and you need glasses to read or watch TV, try getting a different mask. This period of waking adjustment could be very valuable for you.

All the best of the holidays to you too!

I've been awake for it the last few nights. I'm seeing my DME to check if there is anything wrong with the machine after Christmas. Hope you have a good holiday week, and thanks for all the advice so far.

A quick update, I went to my DME yesterday, and they could not find anything wrong with the AirSense but the technician suggested I may need a biPAP. I have not heard back from the sleep clinic part of my HMO, a regular nurse did call and say they would forward my concerns to them, but it might take days due to the holidays. I feel very lost.
