Can't stand the smell. I've tried all the suggestions in this thread and found the only thing that works for me is to open the package the new hose came in and let it air out for 4-6 weeks before using it. I also built a setup with a small fan that blows air through the hose during the time I have it airing out which seems to speed up the process.

I thought bleach use with silicon products was a no-no. Is it OK?

I don't really know about that one way or the other. I know I can't use it the way it was, so nothing to lose.
I did a few searches and came up with a few manufacturers of silicone products that recommend using bleach to sterilize their products (including an "adult toy" purveyor who's website I'd just as soon not seen....) So I'm presuming bleach is ok to use. |
