I really do hear you on those little things. I've got multiple health issues and many times, it's all those little ones that bug me more than those bigger ones. Keep plugging away.

May I suggest adding some white noise, to mask the sound.

I tried masking it with noise, but that didn't help. Maybe the P30i mask is conducting the blower sound directly into bone. It's not loud at all, and the P30i is not loud either. Maybe that's why it bothers me - it's barely audible. After training myself to sleep with one ear open, so to speak, listening for any change in that sound, it might disturb me less if it was louder. Hmmm .... I also ordered some of the hypoallergenic filters, partly because I'm always contending with flow restriction in my nose, but maybe the denser filter will change the sound a bit. I suspect the only real answer is desensitizing though. For now, I'll continue practicing with it in the evening in hopes that one morning I'll wake up to find I never switched to the Dreamstation.

Although the pulsing got a lot better, I was still feeling a bit of two-step exhalation. The P30i manual recommends the pillows mask setting, but I use the large size, which doesn’t have much restriction. I switched the mask setting to nasal, which smoothed it out. The large size pillow is probably close to a nasal mask in restriction anyway.

I found some time-release melatonin, and used that to get through a couple of nights. I slept pretty good the second night.
