airsense 10 - universal tubing/hose adapters
HI Everyone,
Thanks to this group, my airsense 10 settings are perfect. Also on recommendations from other people I switched out the n30 to the resmed p30i mask and that made a huge difference for me. I actually sewed the straps at the right tension so they would not come apart at night and it has been working great. I owe everyone that responded to my questions about settings and masks a huge THANK YOU and I am very grateful for this board.
Now for my question. It seems that generic tubing is much cheaper than what I would pay for the regular tubing from resmed. Of course there are issues with how flexible, long and heavy they are. Just wondering what everyone's experiences is. I know I can get tubing very cheap on aliexpress(china) but not sure if that is worth it.(most stuff is made in china anyways)
Thanks for your help!
Bil

If you don't have insurance coverage and are self paying, it can get pretty expensive to buy ResMed products.
I've used some of the generic tubing and they work just as well as any, but as you stated...they can tend to lack flexibility and may be a bit heavier.
None of this will affect your therapy though. The only downside I see is if you need a heated hose, then you would have to buy the ResMed brand.

Just a note of caution regarding knock off products from China. Remember the scandal with the baby formula and melamine ..... what is in your plastic from alibaba? We have just been hit with the off gassing and degrading foam in Phillips machines. Something can look the same, but made of different and possibly harmful ingredients.
With care, your hose could last years.
