Question
Essential SH Settings
Hello all,

The SH wiki is quite exhaustive, but as a newbie I would like to know from more experienced users what permanent preferences they set in the option menu.

Any help is much appreciated.

the Min 7, Max 20, EPR 3 that SleepRider recommended for the first night This is the same as the 4-20 but with EPR fully enabled thru the entire range. Essentials to Plus, and Ramp off.

The amount of information is quite intimidating when you start CPAP.

I am a computer consultant, programmer, do math for fun, and love technical information and it SEEMED like a lot to learn the first week or so

People most need to understand this in the beginning too -- to either decide on a machine or initially set it up.

If you don't have a machine, post about your situation: current diagnosis, sleep doc visits, sleep study results, plans (what you think you should do),....

If you do, post about the machine (exact name), and your current settings, results (as much as you know), and your issues or questions.

The wiki and old email threads are there to avoid repeating the same info to everyone, but someone here will always try to answer any specific questions you have.

It does seem intimidating, but just scroll down to whatever you are looking for.
This is a good start, use it as a guide and you can always change things later.
