F&P Oracle oral mask + nasal pillow???

Nick from the CPAP Reviews YouTube channel recently mentioned that he knew somebody that hooked a Y-connector up to their cpap hose and ran both the F&P Oracle oral mask and a separate nasal pillow at the same time. This sounds kind of crazy to me, but in a mad genius sort of way. I'm pretty good about breathing through my nose but no mask style, chin strap, tape, etc has completely eliminated leaking from/around my mouth. No matter what, my mouth desperately wants to droop open in my sleep. Could this be a viable solution? Has anybody here tried it?

Just because one could do something, doesn’t mean one should…

There has been many years of research done on effective delivery of CPAP pressures to patients. Mucking about with things we do not understand rarely ends well.

The biggest problem I think would be keeping the two masks far enough apart in order to not interfere with each other. Following that, venting will be an issue, as each mask is equipped with what the manufacturer expects is the appropriate amount of bypass. You may want to consider partially blocking vents on each mask to compensate, but there are problems that will arise if you go overboard mucking about as PLP noted.

All of this begs the question though: have you tried a hybrid style mask, which is a FFM that has a pillows style interface rather than over the nose?
