Still Only Sleeping 4-5 Hours Most Nights

Still Only Sleeping 4-5 Hours Most Nights
I started CPAP a month ago & had my minimum pressure raised from 5 to 7 a week ago. Through the entire time, I'm still waking up after only 4-5 hours and feeling exhausted & napping during the day despite the decrease in AHI from 12 to <1. I may want to give it more time but I am, given life circumstances, pressed to get more sleep as soon as I can.

I don't mind giving it more time, I don't intend to quit or anything. I just figured it wouldn't hurt to just ask for advice. Last night was a typical night. I do have a random night I slept longer (not necessarily better) if that'd help for comparison.

Had similar experience, (4-5 hours of sleep) with reasonable AHI (<5).
I was referred to work on my sleep hygiene.. after long time managed to gradually improve (although far from a 7-8 daily) I suspect this is due to fact it takes time to get used to CPAP..

I'd concede to that if my charts don't show anything, hopefully can get some more feedback. I tried everything, including major lifestyle, changes before CPAP as it took several months to get me into a sleep study. It was demoralizing that nothing made a consistent change so im just wary. It's been so stressful

I take melatonin as well and while it helps get to sleep, it doesn't make a difference in how long I sleep

Are you able to post a zoom shot of the FLOW RATE wave forms?

Sure, hopefully these are sufficient. Chose points around the pressure spikes and the hypoapnea event. If there's anything else needed let me know

Hmm.

First, I want to say I am the last person to posit advice on what all the graphs/charts divulge.  I depend on Sleeprider and others to help me.

However, one of the many failures of my treatment is the inability to achieve, 99% of the time, more than anywhere from 3-5 hours of sleep.

My FLOW RATE wave shapes are usually a horrid mess, so much so that my sleep doctors have given up on me and referred me to Mayo clinic.  Sleeprider was instrumental to me regarding explaining and showing my wave shapes to my local doctors and I have spoken to Mayo about bringing my OSCAR info.  Your FLOW RATE wave shapes are much better than mine.

My referral mentions among other things insomnia.  It might even turn out this might be your main issue, again though I far from knowledgeable, even after being a member here since 2019 and suffering with treatments since 2003.

My hope for you is that Sleeprider or another more knowledgeable than I individual will read your thread and view your charts.

(I am curious as to what they may also say about the lack of data in some of the category graphs.  I do see a very even pressure wave line.  Also, I can’t recall off the top of my head if your graph sections are arranged in the preferred order of preference for this board.  They could be, but just to be sure check the section on how to arrange them if you haven’t already read it.)

Best of luck to you! It is miserable to have such little and/ or poor sleep.
