When do the morning headaches stop?

i took mine off auto and put the heated hose up to the max, and set humidity to 4. If I have any upper respiratory "stuff" going on, i move humidity higher than that, it helps loosen things up.

Other things i do to help with sinus (it's a big issue for me)
  • nasal spray - plain saline, or saline with xylitol (i use xlear)
  • low dose diphenhydramine (discussed daily use with dr)
  • Guaifenesin (mucinex) helps increase secretions and make them less sticky. Herbs like fenugreek are helpful for this if you prefer to avoid drugs.
  • hydration - make sure i drink plenty of water

Tongue Suck Technique for prevention of mouth breathing:
  • Place your tongue behind your front teeth on the roof of your mouth
  • let your tongue fill the space between the upper molars
  • gently suck to form a light vacuum

Practising during the day can help you to keep it at night

RE: When do the morning headaches stop?
I've just read most of these posts from a year ago. The first thing which stood out for me was the fact that the person with the headaches on the new CPaP was using a nasal pillow instead of a full face mask. Nobody seems to have picked that up; I used the nasal pillow at first and it was useless as I was breathing through my mouth. This woman urgently needed a full face mask as her headaches continued after the therapy, only because of the nasal pillow IMO.

I hope somebody was smart enough to pick up that problem with her medical specialist.

My experience was different. I was using nasal pillows and my headaches went away immediately.

I also use nasal pillows with no problem.

Before I started cpap therapy, I would wake up with headaches, but once I was on cpap, the headaches stopped.

Someone may experience headaches for different reasons like.....High blood presssue, or low oxygen levels, or something simple like sinus congestion and inner ear problems.

With the nasal pillow, which I had at first, I reverted to mouth breathing and the effects of CPaP were negated completely.

That's an excellent outcome for you, sonic boom, because the pillow is much preferable to the full face mask!!
