Fun new problem... drool!
When I started CPAP therapy, I had no need for mouth taping - the P10 pillows worked well for me right off the bat.
Fast forward about a year, started mouth taping as I'd wake up from dreams of freezing cold, waking up to a dry mouth/nose from opening my mouth...
Fast forward to today (18mo since therapy started), I've been drooling so much in my sleep that even with two layers of different types of mouth taping, I still wake up around midnight with the tape failing and drool everywhere. An angering experience, have been sleeping horribly, waking up every 30-60min thereafter. I'm at my wits end. I'd almost rather suffocate than this...
Any advice out there...? :/

are you sure it's drool and not humidification from your cpap? When I use a nasal mask and mouth tape I have to turn my humidity setting down or off completely to avoid soggy tape.

That's interesting... I'm in a dry climate, but will absolutely play with adjusting that setting.
Still pretty sure it's drool. Root issue is not being able to keep my mouth closed or tongue against roof of my mouth anymore. Used to just happen naturally :/

I think many suffer drooling to some degree or another. I know I do at times, but it's not all that bad. I'm a mouth-breather and a side sleeper.
My mask of choice is the Resmed AirFit F30. Luckily for me, I don't drool way more than I do.

Might have to try a full face again... just can't understand why I've gone downhill so quickly the last 18mo on all of this! I NEVER had issues before therapy... I'm mostly central sleep apnea fwiw
RE: Fun new problem... drool!
I have the ResMed AirFit F20, F30, and F40. They are the only masks that I have ever used. I swap um out from time to time to break up the boredom.

I wish I had advice but I will say you're not alone. I'm dealing with the same issue, I don't wake up quite as much but still a couple times a night due to drool. I also use nasal mask with tape and it eventually soaks through. I know it's drool because it starts as soon as I put the tape on. I can feel it pooling at the left corner of my mouth although I think it feels worse than it actually is. Either way my lips fluttering wakes me up at night and I have to deal with it or risk waking up again. I would switch to a full face mask but I get much better results using the nasal mask. Like significantly better. I've been googling to no avail. If you find a solution let me know!

Try curling your lips inwards, then apply tape. You get sort of a double seal..

Yep that is what I do. Definitely helps but isn't a total fix.

I too drool. I use full face mask. I use no.1 ultra thin maxi pads slid under edge of mask to catch the drool. Works good
