Generating reports for doctor
Are screenshots the best way to generate a doctor report? What are the most important views and graphs of treatment to share with my doctor?  Feel free to point me somewhere if this has been answered. I didn't see anything in the wiki.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I never got a sleep test before starting APAP treatment since I had been monitoring oxygen/pulse/movement for a year... so I want to show her where I am with treatment and discuss going without the sleep test. (They use Philips which won't tell me much more, and Jason from axgdiagnostics thought his test wouldn't provide enough additional value either compared to OSCAR data, plus I would have to be on my back all night.)

Thanks,

Lisa

TechieHippie, you are surely aware of the recalled products and discontinuation of sales by Philips in the U.S. You do NOT want a Philips PAP machine, even if you can get it. Insist on the Resmed Autoset or Vauto, and if this doctor's office cannot provide it, have them write the script to be filled at a DME that can supply Resmed.

I'm not sure what you want to demonstrate to the doctor's office. If you want to show compliance and use, then the Statistics tab can be printed as a report. The Daily Details is the best view to show therapy results and details you want to highlight. What point do you want to get across to the doctor? If you have never had a diagnostic test, then I recommend you pursue a good clinical PSG that can be used for the rest of your life to establish a diagnosis and need for CPAP. Insurance or Medicare will require a diagnostic test, and while a home sleep study is often sufficient, a clinical PSG is much better.

RE: Generating reports for doctor
Sorry, I was confusing. They won't give me the Philips CPAP, but I also want to avoid the Philips night one Alice sleep test. I don't know if these are officially recalled but the sleep center is still using them. But Philips night one Alice doesn't do EEG, they add sleep position monitoring , an effort belt, and a couple of other things. But most of that same data I already have using my oxygen monitor plus my APAP machine. I've had very few centrals if any so I don't know what else to sleep test would detect. For my APAP I use a resvent, definitely an off brand and used to have problems before a firmware update last fall, but I love it. It seems to have all of the features and more. I managed to buy it without a prescription because I wanted to make sure that the CPAP supplies didn't irritate my chemical sensitivity. I've done fine with it though, silicone is nicely inert.

My question is what APAP data from my 2-month trial will show my doctor that I still have some issues but CPAP treatment is appropriate and I don't need to sleep test.

Thanks!

The Alice NightOne is discontinued as shown in the list below and discussed here https://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread...in-the-U-S

I don't know your situation with medical affiliations, but most of  us can get a referral or just go choose a sleep clinic with real credibility and get the diagnosis.  My preferred approach is to use my regular doctor for that referral and have him be the treating physician.  I will never use a sleep specialist for ongoing care.  My doctor respects my input and together we can agree on a treatment plan where I am in charge, but he can oversee and manage any prescriptions I may need.  The only thing a specialist is required to do is sign the diagnostic sleep report.  It is up to my doctor (treating physician) to make any interpretation with my input, and prescribe and, if required by insurance, monitor therapy compliance and efficacy.  If all you need is a home sleep test, you can get that anywhere, and your doctor can help you order the test. Many online DMEs have testing and prescription services that are economical if you don't have good insurance.

*) go to View -> reset graph -> standard   sets graphs to oscar standard order
go to View -> reset graph heights           sets graphs heights to a readable size.

1) Use the most recent version of OSCAR. dated Sun Feb 18 21:18:58 2024 -0500
It fixes the resvent problem with statistics.

2) go to the statistics tab, select monthly.
   a) create a pdf using Ctrl p   or used the FIle -> print report menu
   b) create a snapshot of the pages.

3) go to the daily tab
    a) adjust the zoom size to illustrate your concerns.
    b) Create a pdf . this will print everything viewed on the daily page.

You can use the LAYOUT button in the lower right hand corner save layouts that you create.
