Does anyone have information or a story about Heart Failure from Sleep Apnea ? Thanks

Heart failure and sleep apnea often occur together, and it's hard to know what came first. I think it's fairly common for heart failure to onset after many years of obstructive apnea, and the heart failure seems to cause apnea to change to a more central form and include Cheyne-Stokes Respiration as it progresses. In any event, regardless of what comes first, the two conditions are comorbid and advanced CHF often progresses to respiratory failure without treatment. This is a pretty large topic, and we have a number of members that experience varying levels of CHF, and they range from mild to fairly severe. One of the more controversial issues is treatment of CHF and associated Cheyne-Stokes and central apnea with ASV. A 2015 study SERVE-HF resulted is a warning of excess mortality for use of ASV in patients with CHF and a left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) less than 45%.
