Hello. Newbie here with mask pain/swelling issues
I used my cpap for about a month 5 years ago. I gave up because I have such sensitive skin. I started again and feel much better, but have severe swelling/redness from the mask, straps, etc.
I have dermatographia, which is overreactive mast cells. Even showers give me a rash.  Need lots of advice on this, my old machine, masks, etc.

Much appreciated ?

Have you tried mask liners and strap pads? Any materials that you are less sensitive to? Some members here make their own from tee shirts.

Read the Mask Primer in my signature, lots of mask hints there.

ohh, and welcome to the forum.

Hi Snoozygirl,
WELCOME! to the forum.!
There are some cloth masks on the market made by a company called Circadiance that you might look into.
Good luck to you as you restart your CPAP therapy and hopefully, you can find a solution to the problems with wearing your mask.
Hang in there for more responses to your post.

Thank you Fred!
I didn't even think about a liner.  I will try tonight. Smile

Thanks Trish!
I will check it out. Maybe a different material will help. Smile

Is Snoozygirl's REMstarPlus M series data and/or Sleepyhead capable?

No.  It's very basic, and old.  I can't afford the snazzy ones right now and our DME coverage is 0% even though ins is $700 mo+ $30 co-pay.  I'm going it alone for now.
