Help, I need help please. This is all just a nightmare.

For the last three years since moving to a new city ( same state) I have had horrible horrible symptoms. Dizzy, brain fog , crazy pains everywhere, fatigue, headaches, vision problems. Completely debilitating. It litterally happened as soon as I moved to Tampa like clock work.

After years of everyone saying I’m crazy I finally got diagnosed with sleep apnea. I did a at home study and had a 7.6 apneas per hour?

I got my machine resmed air 11 or whatever and a air fit 30i full face mask. This is day 8 and on my air app  I range from 1.6-7.4 events a hour. I definitely feel better when my events are lower.

At night I wake up constantly to the sound of air leaks and on those days I’m a complete zombie. Almost feels like I’m sick or somthing.

I don’t know what to do, I’m trying to research this stuff but my brain is just not working.

I had moderate luck mouth taping without the cpap. I was thinking about mouth taping and using the full mask is that a good idea?

Do I need to tweak any settings? Machine is set to 7-15 pressure epr is off. How do I get this damn mask to not leak?!?!??

I’ve been hearing about Oscar, could anyone elaborate on that please. I don’t have a computer because I’m an over the road truck driver ( I know…)

It’s imperative that I start feeling better, given my career.

Thank you very much in advanced.

Also is neck pain and teeth chattering a symptom for anyone??

Welcome! Do you have an SD card in your machine? If not, do get one (32GB or smaller). Then sign up for a free account with SleepHQ (https://home.sleephq.com/) and post a link to your data for the night. This might be really helpful to people here who'd like to help you.

About your mask. Do you breathe through your nose during the day?

The physical size must fit into the slot on the side of your machine. The number of GBs should be 32 or less.

I hear your anxiety. And yes, lack of sleep or being a noob xPAP user can make you quite stuporous.

Baby steps.

You’ll want to use Oscar to read the nightly data in your unit. You need the SD card as above, and a computer gizmo that reads SD cards. Full instrux are in the menu. Then follow these instructions to the letter on how to take a screen shot, what charts need to show, and post as an attachment (not a link) in your thread here. This way, everyone can see your data and offer help if within their skill set and experience. No need for folks to dig through posts and apps to be helpful.

Initial focus will be in settings, sleep position causing apneas, and mask leaks. But charts first, and you’ll get input on these 3 things.

Baby steps. One at a time.

I’m writing a second post to address the nasty taste of mouth drop. This is very common. Your jaw can naturally drop open when your face relaxes in sleep. Folks have different ways of handling this. Personally, I use a loose cervical collar. It helps most of the time. Sometimes the dryness can be helped with an adjustment to the humidifier. Some folks use xylimelts for the dryness. Some folks find certain positions are worse than others. This is a trial and error thing, and it can take a while to get sorted.

Some folks do tape their mouth even with an FFM, but personally, I don’t dare. I am too often inclined to choke or cough suddenly in the night, and my mouth needs to be free to open very quickly. As it is, I can barely whip the mask fast enough when that happens.
