High CA making AHI high

High CA making AHI high
Hey Guys, Wondering if anyone has had this problem and can provide some insight. Been on CPAP for over 15 years and have had no major problems.  Started with Resmed and my supplier changed to Resvent iBreeze in December.  After about a month of reading posts here and trial and error I got my pressure dialed in and have had no problems since Jan or Feb.   About a 7-10 days ago my leakage and AHI went through the roof. I'm talking AHI 40-50 and leakage 60-80 and my throat was crispy! Pulled the Resmed out of the closet and same problem. I use a Dreamwear under the nose mask and I figured the leakage was the problem so I tried mouth tape. With tape the leaks have stopped but my CA is still driving my AHI into the 30-40 range. Here is last nights session.
Any insight would be appreciated. I'm going to try without the tape tonight since leakage had never been a problem before.

Here is the next night without mouth tape. Looks much worse. The thing is I didn't feel tired during the day.

Thank you for posting that DeskJockey.  Wow!  That is about the worst CA chart I have ever seen.  A "CA trainwreck".

Something has obviously changed for you.  If you have insurance, this therapy is unnacceptable and should move you to a different kind of machine (probably one that has a back up rate - breaths for you when you miss breaths due to CA).  ST, ST(A), ASV, vaps.  All of these machine provide a back up rate to combat central apneas.  Show this OSCAR chart to your Dr. and RT, etc.

If you bought this machine out of pocket, you may need a new machine (if something like your mask or machine malfuntion, etc. is not causing the CA's).  If you tried both machines and this is happening, odds are that the machine is not the problem.

Maybe try a different size cushion for your mask?

Jay51, Thanks for the response. This machine was provided by the insurance company. I will contact my Dr. The strange thing is this has only started within the last couple of weeks. My AHI has consistently been below 3 for many years and even the most of the time ( 6 months ) that I've had this new machine. Thanks again and I'll be sure to post the results.

RE: High CA making AHI high
Have you recently been sleeping at a higher elevation than usual? Have you recebtkt started taking any opiod-type medication? -- Those are questions your doctor may want to ask you.

Could you zoom in on an area that is dense with CAs and post that? A segment of about 8 minutes in length would be good.

Also, just as a general thing, it's helpful if you include the left panel of your daily chart. It provides a lot of potentially valuable information.
