Hose poping sound
Hello everyone,
Last night my hose was making poping sound. The hose seemed straugth. There was a but of condensation could it be the reason why it made that sound.
It prevented me and my wife from having a good nigth of sleep. It was fairly loud. It happened on a couple of occasions before last nigth but never has loud
Anyone knows what could be the source of the problem and how to solve this?
RE: Hose poping sound
Condensation or a humidifier overfill can cause liquid water to be present in the tube. If there is a loop where the water can settle, it acts like the trap on a sink. Air will bubble through the water, but will be noisy and "pop". If the tube is flat or the machine is higher than your head, you might be waterboarded by water coming through the tube to the mask. The first prevention is to be sure the tube rises from the CPAP outlet so any water in the tube will drain back to the humidifier chamber. Additional steps are:
1. Do not overfill humidifier chamber,
2. Use a heated tube to prevent condensation,
3. Consider using a fleece cover to quiet the hose and prevent condensation,
4. Always suspend the tube from a headboard or other support to promote drainage and allow it to move with you as you sleep.
