I was told by my DME to use distilled water only. 99 cents at the grocery store, lasts a month.

Daria,

It sounds like some vestiges of the mold release agent. I would demand a replacement. Usually my "demands" are initiated as requests that may elevate. I would not use the tank just on general principles.

ya - old thread resurrection... long since replaced at this point... never did figure out what was on it, but it's been pitched at this point

Tongue Suck Technique for prevention of mouth breathing:
  • Place your tongue behind your front teeth on the roof of your mouth
  • let your tongue fill the space between the upper molars
  • gently suck to form a light vacuum

Practising during the day can help you to keep it at night
