Just got a new machine!

Cool
Just got a new machine!
After hearing the bad news about the refurbished PR DS1s being still unsafe to use, I stopped therapy for about a week.

I just got an officially sanctioned ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet and I'm so happy I could cry!!!!

I immediately came home and took a nap  Big Grin

Time to increase EPR to get rid of flow limitations, right?

Yes correct. Make sure EPR is set to full time. You have a choice of 3 pressue settings within EPR, 1, 2, 3. These correspond with therapy pressure cmH2O. EPR 3 will be the most effective for the majority. You may need to try it and see how well it goes.

Not quite sure how to interpret these results...

If my 95% IPAP is around 14 and 95% EPAP is around 11 does that mean that I should increase minimum IPAP pressure to 11-12? My flow limits were still quite high (max 0.38) even at EPR 3.

I see some positional apnea (expected) and understand how to treat that.

But I'm new to IPAP/EPAP and EPR settings and would appreciate some advice as to how to fine tune!

Also, the CAs are quite out of the ordinary for me. But maybe Philips was just crap at detecting them, or maybe it's treatment-induced CA... Dont-know

You are having positional apnea.  You can see positional apnea where either H or Oa events are clustered together.  Getting rid of as many as you can will lower your AHI.  Positional apnea can NOT be controlled by pressure changes.  You have to find out what position you are getting into and cutting off your own airway.  Have you changed your sleep position?  Sleeping on your back?  Using more (or new) pillows?  These things can cause positional apnea by chin dropping to your sternum and cutting your airway.  Think of it of a kinked hose – nothing can get through – you have to unkink the hose…

IF you can’t make a simple change like changing to a flatter pillow helps then you will need a collar.  I have a link to collars in my signature at the bottom of the page.  It shows people who are not wearing a collar and the SAME person wearing a collar.  There is a huge difference between the two.
