Better things:  Feel better the last two mornings.  The smaller mask has stopped my mouth falling open, because it sits in the space between my lower lip and chin, and that combined with the soft collar, mouth stays shut.  No more horrendously dry mouth and no more air swallowing.  I read the entire mask primer, and have a better understanding now.  I think that the resmed full face is not the ideal mask for me, as the medium is too big and the small seems to leak more.  problem is I have a narrow lower face, and small jaw.The leak issues are always at the lower sides.  If I had more padding on my face the masks would fit better.  I need the full face, the nasal did not work at all for me.  Im stuck with resmed right now, its the only one the clinic supply, but later on I will look at a possible better mask.

Its good that you are noticing a difference with PAP therapy!

Nasal masks, especially nasal pillow masks tend to be the best for leaks because they have a very small surface area to leak from. Lots of people, including me, have mouth leaking issues with nasal masks and their are ways to address this (ie. mouth taping, chin straps). I wouldn't completely rule out nasal masks without trying out a few of them.

If you're thinking of sticking to full face masks, the Fisher and Paykel Vitera is one that many people recommend. I've tried it before and it works well, but I just hate full face masks.

I also wanted to mention that your flow limits are still a bit high, even with EPR on 3. We will see what changes once you get some data with the new settings, but if flow limits are still high, BiPAP might be the next step.

I've reset everything as suggested by this thread.  But lm wondering about the auto set feature...  there is autoset or cpap.  It's been on autoset.  I leave it there?

I am glad to see you are still here, before you have an appointment for a follow up CPAP assessment. I would like for you to become an "Informed Knowledgeable Consumer" so you can walk in there and say . "I have exhausted all possible modes and ranges of therapy this machine can offer" therefore I request you provide the machine that will deliver satisfactory results.

Then speak in an affirmative voice and let them know what you expect for their next offering.

Little old ladies seeking good therapy must watch out for each other. Ok, I am not so little, how old is old?   Dont-know

My forum friends have come in to support you, We are here for the long haul.

We need to know when you next Sleep Clinic visit is.

We need to have you try CPAP Mode before the next visit with your sleep clinic.

Post back with your OSCAR Reports, I think you are short on time we need to move to CPAP.

I know you live in "tomorrow". For over four years I sailed the Pacific and Indian Oceans, I am no longer a pollywog, I am initiated in the traditional ceremony, Shellback.

Time is but another dimension we must learn to use to our advantage.
