Looks like I got the WORST DME in history
The (doctor's) office said they put in an order for a CPAP (APAP) when I called on 10/12.
No word from anyone. I poked the doctor today to have them poke the DME. (Insurance was approved well over a week ago so that shouldn't be the hold-up)
Got an automated phone call from DME today saying that they got my order and it could take 5-7 days to process.
Looked them up and they have dismal reviews. Absolute abomination. *Price Is Right loosing horn plays*

Something tells me I'm not gonna be able to shake a ResMed Airsense 10 out of them.
I picture them sending a moldy machine they got from a yard sale, being dragged to my door by a shirtless gentleman pulling it by the power cord like he's walking a dog. I can hear the sounds of the plastic housing being eroded as it scrapes it's way along my driveway.
I feel like I should cancel and choose a different company.

Don’t hesitate! Call your doctor and get a copy of the prescription. Make sure the script states exactly what machine you want. This way, a DME can’t give you something less.
Then call your insurance and get a list of DME’s they have contracted with. Don’t let your Doctor choose for you.

You don’t have to shake anything from the DME. While you are waiting, get a list of approved DMEs from your insurance company and a copy of your prescription. Find a DME who is willing to provide you the machine you want. If the current DME tries to give you anything but a ResMed A10 Auto refuse delivery and inform them you will purchase your machine from someone who can provide the machine you want.

That's interesting because I called and they gave me a list of 3 companies. The one the doctor gave me wasn't one of the 3

While your at it you might want to find a new Doctor too.

They are called in-Network providers, and it is always faster and easier to use them. We never suggest using a doctor referred provider unless you have a lot of confidence in the provider and doctor, due to the potential for conflict of interest. Patients are always free to use a provider of their choice. Do be sure the prescription specifies Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset.

I'm here getting ready to call a new company when the DME called just now.
The person sounded decent and scheduled me for Oct 30 and said I would be getting the Airsense 10. I didn't even mention it. They brought it up. Maybe they read this message, lol. I must be dreamin'.
Perhaps it was apparent that I was gonna be a problem (didn't sleep AT ALL for the titration) so the doctor made a note to throw the best possible one at me.
The reviews disturb me, but I'm gonna give this company a chance. Stay tuned.

It's hard to find positive reviews on DMEs, and especially on BBB which is mostly intended as a complaint organization, and tends to not resolve complaints unless the business pays the annual fees for membership. The Google reviews for Landaur are a mix of one star and five stars. It's a tough business. My favorite sources for reviews are on Glassdoor and Indeed by the people that work there. You can quickly see a problem if everyone is didgruntled and turnover is high. That doesn't seem to be the case here.

I might of missed something, but if your insurance didn't have them listed you might want to check and make sure your covered with this DME.

Make sure you know it is an AutoSet that you want.
