[CPAP] Oscar results - How can I improve on this further?

Question
Oscar results - How can I improve on this further?
Hi everyone,

I went from only tolerating the machine for 1.5 hours to being able to wear it all night a little more than a month ago. Took 4 years to get here.  I thought I would notice improvements but I still feel the same. Tired, mental fog, need naps, not enough juice to get things done during the day.  Iron normal, b12 and Vit D are low but I supplement. Started a carnivore diet to lose weight. Down 10 lbs already. I sleep on my back mostly wearing a P10 mask and mouth tape. Mouth tape is a life saver as I was snoring wearing full face masks but I'm looking for alternative to the tape since the adhesive chemicals irritate my throat and lungs.  What can I infer from the Oscar data?  What can I improve on?

Your starting pressure is too low for most adults.  Change it to 7.  Also, use EPR set full-time at 2.  It may raise your CAs a little, but pressure relief is generally more important as it lowers flow limits.  Flow limits are short apneas that do not get reported, but do interfere with therapy and comfort.

Good luck with improving your treatment!  Smile

Thank you!  I changed the min pressure to 7 after reviewing the pressure chart.  It made sense to do that.  I've been concerned about using EPR for the effect on centrals but it might be the missing link to feeling better.  Will definitely try that.

Hi nomosnow, I would raise the min pressure to 7cm as suggested but leave EPR OFF as you're having hypopnea events that need to be addressed more than flow limits right now. Also lower your max pressure to 12cm please, the narrower pressure range will help with arousals and microarousals from the machine fluctuating pressure-you will sleep better too. Also, try these new settings for a few nights before adjusting again please, but show us new charts then Smile

Here is the date for the last 7 days.  I only adjusted the pressure to 7-13 and kept everything else the same.  Can't say I notice any difference but I'm also struggling with the mouth tape.  While it works to keep my mouth shut, I find the adhesives irritating to my eyes, throat, lungs, etc.  I tend to be a little sensitive to chemicals and smells.  I've tried other things like chin straps and neck brace but no dice.
