Dry mouth with Resmed 11 auto, not with S9 auto?
Just received a new Resmed Air 11 auto, and am waking up at night with dry mouth, and a leak rate between 6% and 12%, this was not happening with my S9 auto, with a leak rate less than 2%. Setting are both on For Her, the 11 is set for 7-12, the S9 is set for 6-12. I used the S9 last night, no dry mouth. Mask Swift FX nasal pillows.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with the Resmed 11 auto?
I purchase all my equipment, thinking about sending the Resend 11 auto back.
Haven't had a sleep study since 2008, and have not seen a sleep Dr in over 10 years, wondering if it is time to get in line for a sleep study?
Thanks for any advice or information about this challenge.
RE: Dry mouth with Resmed 11 auto, not with S9 auto?
i can anecdotally feel your pain. i recently got an airsense 10 after years of using a philips machine. but that was different manufacturers. the machine i got was unused, so i chalked it up to being a new maker and a new machine.
do you use the humidifier? i never do, which may have been a factor in my situation.
after a couple weeks, the dry mouth went away.
i'm in the same boat as you. no visits to a sleep dr in years. mostly oscar and trial and error to get my numbers where i want them...albeit, still a work in progress.
the dry mouth will probably subside, but give it some time. hang in there.
RE: Dry mouth with Resmed 11 auto, not with S9 auto?
After reading on the forum I realized my EPR may not be set properly.
The settings were an EPR of 1, ramp only, changed them to EPR 2, always on, made a big difference. My dry mouth was gone as were the massive leaks.
Using the humidifier, necessary for me in the high desert with low humidity.
eok361, thanks for your input.
