Colorado Apnea Journey - Complex and Mostly CSA Questions
#21
RE: Colorado Apnea Journey - Complex and Mostly CSA Questions
Happy New Year... still waiting on the AirCurve 11 ASV. Appt with my MD on Monday. Got an OuraRing for xmas. Having some issues and non-issues:

The Ring says my O2 saturation is averaging about 95%, pretty good. This is both with AND w/o using my AirSense 11. But my sleep quality last night (with the APAP) was garbage. Toss and turn, finally took it off. Percentage of deep sleep was well below recommendations per the ring, but I could have just told you that.

I am trying to continue to use this (ineffective for me) AirSense until I get the AirCurve, so insurance will not say I failed (needs to be 21 days per month, at least 4 hours per night. I am meeting that bar). The past few nights using, I have felt challenged with my inhale (like it feels like a stuffy nose or something is 'in the way' of the air coming in). I have no stuffy nose! Maybe it is annoyance.

Here are my charts from last night, which was not a great one for me. Are there any mild tweaks to try for comfort or efficacy you can think of at this point with this APAP to play with while I wait for ASV? My AHI averages around 9 over the past month-ish.

I can't suggest any edits on the AutoSet.

Just some info, in 2017 I had a Philips Respironics Auto Bilevel but was in need of an ASV. I went ahead and more or less failed the bilevel because mega CA was torture. Recall that I had 124 CA to 24 OA on the test that got me the bilevel, and it about doubled with bilevel.

The reason I mention my own experience, if your use of the AutoSet is hurting more than helping, don't be concerned about failing compliance. If the AutoSet is terrible for you, maybe hang the mask up for a bit.

I'm thinking you're getting ASV with a new script, so insurance already knows you're moving on from the AutoSet.
